The Companion Bible | A Comment on Bible Study Tools
The New Strongs Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible. James Strong, LL.D., S.T.D.
Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible has been the standard reference guide for pastors, scholars, and laymen for nearly a century. This newly revised, updated and fully unabridged edition will take its readers into the next century as well.
Possibly the best known-and best-loved-King James concordance of all time, Strong's is an invaluable reference and research tool. Each of the words in the King James Version is listed and identified by the verses where it appears. Strong's is a priceless cross-reference guide to the original Hebrew, Chaldean and Greek terms.
DR. James Strong, formerly professor of exegetical theology at Drew Theological Seminary, spent more than thirty-five years preparing this landmark concordance.
First published in 1890 with the help of more than one hundred colleagues, Strong's remains the definitive concordance compiled on the King James Version of the Bible.
The Strong's Exhaustive Concordance features:
The Miracles of Jesus Christ and Prayers of the Bible Prophecies of the Messiah Fulfilled in Jesus Christ Teachings and Illustrations of Christ The Parables of Jesus Christ Old Testament Chronology Harmony of the Gospels The Laws of the Bible New Testament Monies The Jewish Calendar Measures of Length Monies and Weights Liquid Measures Jewish Feasts Dry Measures.
The New Strong's Complete Dictionary of Bible Words James Strong, LL.D., S.T.D.
Using Strong's dictionaries has never been easier or more helpful. Now the famous Strong's dictionaries are offered as a seperate volume, complete with an exclusive new English word index, in an easy-to-read format.
The New Strong's Complete Dictionary of Bible Words helps you do word studies more thoroughly than ever. A brand new english word index shows which Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic words are translated into specific english words and how often each translation occurs.
This information, along with Strong's complete numbering system, allows even beginning Bible students to do accurate and enlightening word studies without knowing the original biblical languages.
If you already own a Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, you'll want to update it with this unabridged dictionary. You can also use the New Strong's Complete Dictionary of Bible Words with other concordances. Special introductory material helps you use the features of your concordance more effectively.
Fully updated and corrected entries in an enlarged easy-to-read print are more convenient and easier to use.

A Comment on Bible Study Tools.
The Companion Bible is a Bible I would heartily recommend to any serious Bible student. The appendixes and sidenotes really bring a better understanding of the Word, and the original manuscripts.
I am not sure about other areas, but many bookstores no longer carry the Companion Bible. If you would like to purchase this Bible, you may want to check with your local Christian or regular bookstore to see if they have it or can order it. If you cannot find it, you can still order them from the Shepherd's Chapel, as they still carry them in their library.
The Companion Bible can run anywhere from $70-$110 dollars, but it is well worth the investment. Make sure it is by E.W. Bullinger, or it may not be "the real thing".
If you cannot afford or obtain the Companion Bible, I strongly recommend you get a good, 1611 version of the King James Bible and a Strongs Exhaustive Concordance. These two tools are what you really need if you want to study the Word in depth using Dr. Murray's unique teaching approach. The Strong's is around $25 dollars, and I must say is the first thing to buy to really get you on your way.
The Strong's Dictionary is essentially a "cleaned up" version of the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance. The Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries are enlarged for easier viewing, and words can be traced from english to hebrew or greek. It is compatible with the Strong's numbering system. This is ideal if you already own the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance and want an easier to carry, quick way to find words and their meanings. Do get the Exhaustive Concordance first, as this is more of a "supplement" to the Exhaustive version.
